چکیده
Abstract Deoxynivalenol (DON) is a primary mycotoxin in cereal feed ingredients that negatively affects intake and immune function of pigs. Formation DON sulfonate (DONS) with sulfites has become an effective approach to mitigate the toxicities practice, but metabolic fate under sulfonation-based decontamination was not well defined. In this study, 48 nursery pigs (35 d age, 10.8 ± 1.3 kg) were stratified by weight sex grouped following 2 x2 factorial design on content corn-soybean meal diets (1.2 vs. 4.1 ppm) inclusion NoTox Ultimate D, sulfite-based mitigant (0 0.25%). Four experimental diets, including low-DON no treatment (LD-NT); sulfonation (LD-ST): high-DON (HD-NT); (HD-ST), fed for 21 urine collection day 0, 10, fecal 21. Urine samples analyzed both targeted metabolite analysis untargeted metabolomic modeling. itself absent all samples, indicating complete biotransformation. As expected, led formation DONS feces correlation decrease two glucuronides (HD-ST < HD-NT). Interestingly, did concentrations deepoxy-deoxynivalenol (DOM) urine. Instead, it significantly increased DOM > The results indicate sulfite alters biotransformation excretion decreasing availability free absorption simultaneously increasing its microbial metabolism form DOM, inactivated metabolite, excretion.

Valine requirement of nursery pigs.
Six experiments were conducted to determine the true digestible valine requirement of 5- to 20-kg pigs. In Exp. 1, a valine-deficient diet for 5- to 10-kg pigs was developed and validated in terms of growth performance in response to supplemental L-valine. A different basal diet was validated for 10- to 20-kg pigs in Exp. 2. Both diets were demonstrated to be deficient in valine and to support ...
متن کاملTiamulin and narasin toxicosis in nursery pigs
This case report describes a clinical case of tiamulin and narasin toxicosis in a group of nursery pigs, caused by the inadvertent introduction of narasin at 83.1 g per tonne into a ration containing tiamulin at 31.4 g per tonne. The affected pigs were anorexic and showed signs of weakness, depression, ataxia, and incoordination to the point of recumbency, without paddling or other neurological...

Five patients fitted with a biliary T-tube after cholecystectomy were given orally a tracer dose of [14C]hyodeoxycholic acid and 500 mg of the same unlabeled acid. Intestinal absorption and biotransformation, liver metabolism, bile secretion, fecal and urinary excretions of this acid or of its metabolites were studied. Hyodeoxycholic acid was well absorbed by the human intestine. It was not sub...
متن کاملIncreased frequency of porcine epidemic diarrhea virus shedding and lesions in suckling pigs compared to nursery pigs and protective immunity in nursery pigs after homologous re-challenge
Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) causes enteric disease in pigs and spreads rapidly after entering naïve pig populations. The objectives were to (1) compare the disease course following inoculation with PEDV isolate US/Colorado/2013 in naïve 10 day and 8 week-old pigs, and (2) contrast the naïve response to homologous challenge in 8 week-old pigs. Pigs were randomly assigned into group 1 ...
